Next up in our Quickfire Question series is International Grand Prix Dressage rider and SDU founder Steph Croxford. Steph currently has one horse she is competing Internationally and an exciting, up and coming youngster you will see her out competing in the near future.
1. Do you have anything lucky that you will not be without on a competition day?
My horse!!! Oh and a pair of Unicorn socks!!
2. What is your favourite and least favourite food?
Favourite is Swordfish, least favourite is Razor clams
3. If you compared yourself to an animal, which one would you pick and why?
A Bear as I’m over protective of my young but cuddly too!!
4. What is your least favourite horsey job?
Clipping
5. Who do you use as your trainer?
Simon, the kids….oh and Richard Davison
6. Which rider do you admire most and why?
Emma Hindle as she is a fantastic rider and a wonderful human being too!!
7. Do you have any amazing time saving tips to share?
Yes, don’t have kids if you still want to concentrate on your riding, as you soon become a ‘taxi service!!’
8. What is your favourite model of saddle?
It’s between the Grand Prix and the Secret Weapon Advantage for me!
9. If you could pick any horse (not one of your own) to do one competition on, which one and why?
Totilas, because I was lucky enough to compete against Edward and him on the World Cup Circuit and it was amazing to watch the horse develop his elastic trot in the warm up.
10. If you didn’t work with horses, what profession would you do?
I’m a qualified Minewater Chemist with a PhD, so I guess that.
11. Who is the biggest character on your yard?
They all have amazing characters, but the Queen seems to be Mag’s aka Magaluf to her mates!!

My Family

Fritzen CDI
15. Most memorable moment in your career?
Olympia World Cup show 2006 when people began to notice my little cart horse Mr President

17. Have you always done dressage or have you tried different disciplines?
I never chose dressage, my horse, Mr President did. I bought him to event not trot around in circles!!!
