1. Do you have anything lucky that you will not be without on a competition day?
Sian:
Not now but I used to have a lucky bra when I competed my old horse. Turns out it was just the horse that was cool and not the bra
Adam:
I try not to have anything like that in case I forget it. An owner of a previous horse always used to give him a kiss with her pink lipstick on his white nose for luck before XC. When she couldn’t come to an event she would give me a card that she had kissed to carry round with me!
2. What is your favourite and least favourite food?
Sian:
LOVE pizza, hate fish!
Adam:
Hate cucumber, love a good steak.
3. If you compared yourself to an animal, which one would you pick and why?
Sian:
Maybe a dog loyal, fun but loves a lounge in the sun sometimes
Adam:
I just did a beano quiz online and it said I’m a sloth!
4. What is your least favourite horsey job?
Sian:
Poo picking fields 100%
Adam:
Everything that Sian does… filling haynets, making feeds, bathing and plaiting for shows
5. Who do you use as your trainer?
Sian:
Mel Chapman for dressage and my partner Adam Morgan helps me when it comes to jumping. He trains with Caroline Moore so he picks up tips to help me through her.

6. Which rider do you admire most and why?
Sian:
Nicola Wilson, after her accident last year her attitude is just amazing taking on alternative roles and challenges within the equestrian industry.
Adam:
Carl Hester, he creates such a harmonious and relaxed partnership.
7. Do you have any amazing time saving tips to share?
Sian:
Not groundbreaking but I try to get all haynets filled on a weekend to save time in the morning during the week.
Adam:
Everything seems to take forever, I’m still trying to work out ways of saving time
8. What is your favourite model of saddle?
Sian:
The jubilee, mine has a gorgeous floral design on the back with pink welt and stitching to match my xc colours
Adam:
My advantage dressage saddle and the bascule jump saddle for jumping
9. If you could pick any horse (not one of your own) to do one competition on, which one and why?
Sian:
Maybe not a competition but in the past I wanted to have a ride in a point to point race. I’d love to have a spin round a point to point course on Thistlecrack or Denman.
Adam:
La Biosthetique Sam FBW around my first 5* or Denman in the 2008 Cheltenham Gold Cup.
10. If you didn’t work with horses, what profession would you do?
Sian:
My degree is actually in Forensic and analytical chemistry so I would have possibly gone down that route.
Adam:
I’m a qualified chartered surveyor and have worked as an asset manager for a property company for the past 10 years.
11. Who is the biggest character on your yard?
Sian:
Kondo one if Adams horses, everyone loves him when they meet him. He’s essentially a huge Labrador!

Sian:

Hmm I don’t really have one, I’m just going with the flow
14. Whats your favourite show?
Sian:
Love Belsay, the horses always go well there and my partners horse Manfriday won the intermediate Masters there in 2022.
Adam:
Blenheim Palace, would love to ride there one day too.
15. Most memorable moment in your career?
Sian:
Not a specific moment but the 2015 event season with my old horse. He’s special and I don’t think I realised how special at the time.
Adam:
I was in the Horse and Hound for the first person to fall off when the FEI introduced the rule that you couldn’t carry on if you fell off XC. I’m not sure it’s a happy memory but it’s certainly memorable!
16. How old were you when you started riding?
Sian:
I started riding lessons at 4 years old but my mum used to take me out for walks on Wholly the Shetland when I was 2 or 3.
Adam:
Before I could walk, I had a Shetland called Flymo that a brought into m parents bedroom one day.
17. Have you always evented or have you tried different disciplines?
Sian:
Just eventing although I used to guide mobile horseback safaris if that would be considered a different discipline
Adam:
I used to do a lot of a showing when I was a child then started Eventing at about 14.
